Construction of the central passenger terminal will require the oldest part of the Katowice Airport cubic infrastructure to be demolished. It is formed by the old air traffic control tower, handling companies' technical/social facilities and the so-called multi-functional building, where office rooms, as well as the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting unit's fire station are located.

The facility will be located between the Echo and Hotel taxiways, in the vicinity of the Delta taxiway. The project estimates that the fire station will cover approx. 2,750 m². It will include a garage hall with 6 double parking spaces for 12 vehicles, as well as technical and social/administrative rooms. A 360° alarm point will be located on the third floor.
