The Upper Silesian Aviation Group (Górnośląskie Towarzystwo Lotnicze S.A.) signed an agreement with Kwadrat Polska for a complex design documentation related to the construction of a second cargo terminal at Katowice Airport.
As part of the signed agreement, Kwadrat will prepare a project concept, and construction works project for the new cargo building. It will be located in the south-eastern part of Katowice Airport, between the existing cargo terminal (put into service in May 2016) and the new airport maintenance services base.
The second cargo terminal will be a storage facility with an office/social base; it will cover approx. 10,000 sq. m. After putting the terminal into use, the total surface of infrastructure used to handle cargo at Katowice Airport will increase to approx. 22,000 sq. m. Conclusion of works related to designing the building is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
