Summary of First Year of Katowice Airport's Investment Program for 2024-2032
In 2024, the newest investment program for Katowice Airport began; it will be realised until 2032. During the first year of the program, one investment concluded, and three worth a total of PLN 150M began. Preparation of project documentation for further pro-development investments also began. Investments which finished and began in 2024
Car Park P4
Before summer 2024, GTL SA put the first planned investment comprising Katowice Airport's infrastructure development program for 2024-2032 into service. The new car park has 757 parking spaces. It is fully illuminated, equipped with an advanced monitoring system and parking system. The new car park, designation "P4," is located next to the roundabout which was created during the construction of the intersection of road No. 913 and railway line No. 182.
Multimodal Goods and Fuel Delivery Hub with Railway Siding Connection at Katowice Airport
The largest investment that has been started in the first year of Katowice Airport's investment program is the construction of a Multimodal Goods and Fuel Delivery Hub with Railway Siding Connection. The project has received European Union funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) 2021–2027 Military Mobility of up to 50% of the eligible costs. The main contractor for the investment, i.e. consortium formed by Mostostal Kraków SA and Budimex SA, started construction works in September 2024. The project will be completed by June 2026 at the latest. The cost of the project is PLN 117.3M.

New base for airport maintenance departments
In September 2024, Budimex SA began building a new base for airport maintenance departments in the south-eastern part of Katowice Airport. The first stage of the construction of the base is worth nearly PLN 20M net. The investment will be ready in Q2 2025.

Car Park P5
In August 2024, to the south of the aircraft maintenance hangars area, the construction of Car Park P5 commenced. In the first phase, approx. 900 new parking spaces for cars will be created as part of the investment. The project is carried out in the "Design-Build" mode. SILESIAN INVEST Sp. z o.o. and Szmitka Kamiński Sp. k. are the main contractors. The project is worth PLN 10.5M net. The new infrastructure will be put into service in Q2 2025.

Project process in 2024
In 2024, preparation of project documentation was under way for the following investments:
- New headquarters of the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting department
- expansion of Car Park P5
- Expansion of Car Park P1 to the west
Moreover, in October 2024 GTL SA announced a tender for the designer of the Central Passenger Terminal and accompanying infrastructure. The tender is carried out in the mode of a competitive dialogue, and the agreement with the winner will be signed by the end of 2025.
Plans for 2025
The second year of Katowice Airport's investment program will be characterised by consistent realisation of its schedule. In Q1 2025, construction of the fourth aircraft maintenance hangar will begin; it will take 12 months to complete. Construction of the Multimodal Goods and Fuel Delivery Hub with Railway Siding Connection, as well as expansion of Car Parks P1 and P4, will also take place. A new base for airport maintenance departments and Car Park P5 will be put into use. Tender for constructor of aircraft de-icing apron for runway 08 will commence as well. Tender for designer of the Central Passenger Terminal and accompanying infrastructure will also proceed. Tender for designer of the second cargo terminal will be announced. The designing process for the new headquarters of the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting department will conclude, and a tender will be announced for the constructor of the investment.
The estimated total cost of the Katowice Airport investment program for 2024-2032 is approx. PLN 1.5B. GTL SA plans to finance the project from own sources, a commercial credit, a capital increase, as well as a grant from the European Union.
